My Week at a Glance

We woke up to a winter wonderland on Saturday morning — the first measurable snow in our area in a couple of years. The light dusting transformed the neighborhood into something quiet and magical, and I couldn’t help but step outside to admire it.

At my house we measured roughly three inches. Being in the South, we don’t have the snow gear and infrastructure up here like friends in northern states do, so the town slowed to a standstill. There was something peaceful about the quiet streets and the frosted branches — a simple reminder to slow down and appreciate small, seasonal moments.

A short life update: you may have noticed I haven’t been posting as often in recent weeks. I started two different medications — one just before Thanksgiving and another in mid-December — and balancing them has been a process. The combination didn’t agree with me at first, and I experienced low energy and some unpleasant side effects. I’m gradually returning to feeling like myself, and I’m hopeful that we’re close to a final plan that will restore my usual energy and consistency. If you’re inclined, prayers and positive thoughts are much appreciated.

Sunday Scripture

As the new year unfolds, I keep returning to a verse that reminds me to orient everyday actions toward a larger purpose:

So, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God. 1 Corinthians 10:31, ESV

This verse helps me bring intention to ordinary tasks — cooking, hosting, working, resting — and to remember that small, daily choices can reflect gratitude and care. I’m holding it close as we begin a fresh year.

Inspiring Ideas and Fun Finds

With the new year here, many of us are looking for easy ways to become more organized and intentional. I found a helpful list of practical January tasks that set a calm, organized tone for the rest of the year. They’re simple, doable actions that build momentum — great for anyone wanting to start 2026 with clarity and less clutter.

A cheerful set of porcelain mugs caught my eye — bright, colorful pieces that make cold winter mornings feel a little warmer. A pop of color in your kitchen can lift your mood and make daily routines more enjoyable.

I also loved a striking home entrance I saw recently — an elegant, welcoming doorway that sets the tone for visitors. It’s fun to imagine greeting guests with that level of curb appeal and thoughtfulness.

If you’re looking for practical storage solutions, there’s a storage cabinet I’ve shared before that’s currently available at a reduced price. It’s a budget-friendly way to add organization and style to a room — perfect for clearing counter clutter and creating a tidier space.

And for chilly nights, a hearty bowl of soup is always welcome. I’m planning to try a sausage soup recipe that looks comforting and simple to prepare — the kind of meal that makes the house smell like home and brings everyone to the table.
