Isn’t that vintage blue and floral vase beautiful? I found a pair at a local consignment shop and they instantly inspired my fall decorating this year. Their soft blue and delicate floral pattern add a touch of vintage charm that feels both cozy and elegant. I’ve used them on a console and on my kitchen island to anchor seasonal displays and to give small arrangements a polished look.

I’ve been promising a full fall tour for weeks, and life has delayed it a bit. The Lord willing, I’ll finally share the full tour on Monday—until then, consider this a little sneak peek of what’s to come.

My Week at a Glance

This week my heart has felt heavy. Between troubling world news and local devastation, I’ve been thinking a lot about community, resilience, and how quickly life can change. The recent storms that moved through the North Carolina mountains caused widespread damage, and the reports grow more sobering with each update. Seeing places I once visited change so dramatically has been difficult.

I spent several years living in Asheville when I was younger, so the news feels very personal. Many of the small towns and scenic spots I loved have been severely impacted. It’s heartbreaking to see familiar places in such need. Still, even in the midst of loss there are glimmers of hope: neighbors helping neighbors, volunteers arriving to assist, and quieter acts of kindness that remind me of the best parts of human nature.

I hold onto the belief that we are not alone in difficult times. Faith, community, and small acts of compassion provide comfort and practical help. Please join me in prayer and in offering whatever support we can to those affected. Even a simple message, a donation to a verified relief fund, or offering shelter and food to those nearby can make a real difference.

Sunday Scripture

“It is the Lord who goes before you. He will be with you; he will not leave you or forsake you. Do not fear or be dismayed.” Deuteronomy 31:8 (ESV)

This verse has been a steady reminder for me this week. When circumstances feel overwhelming, the simple truth that we are not abandoned brings calm and perspective. I find myself returning to prayer and reflection, seeking peace and wisdom for how to respond with compassion.

On My Wishlist

If you’re planning fall decorating, here are a few items and ideas I’m loving right now—pieces that feel versatile, seasonal, and practical.

For fresh planter inspiration, browse collections of seasonal planters to spark creative ideas for porches, patios, and entryways. Layering textures, mixing evergreens with seasonal blooms, and adding natural elements like pumpkins or gourds creates welcoming fall vignettes.

One item I recommend as a year-round staple is a sturdy trio of candlesticks. They work across seasons and styles—grouped together on a mantel, dining table, or sideboard they create instant warmth and height in a vignette.

I’m also smitten with a bright, colorful fall wreath that mixes florals and pumpkins for a lively seasonal look. A bold wreath can lift an entryway and set a cheerful tone for guests.

Another favorite is a classic pair of lamps—these bring balance and style to living rooms and bedrooms. Look for lamps with substantial bases and warm-toned shades to create inviting ambient light.

And for cozy kitchen moments, try elevating a beloved recipe—this salted caramel banana bread is a delicious twist on a classic. It’s perfect for sharing with neighbors or enjoying with a warm cup of tea on a cool afternoon.
