Supplies you’ll need

  • Assorted sheets of scrapbook paper (one 12 x 12 sheet will yield about four envelope templates)
  • Glue dots or double-sided tape
  • White 8½ x 11 cardstock for printing messages
  • Scissors

Step-by-step directions

These mini Valentine’s envelopes are simple and quick to make. Follow these steps:

Step 1: Print the envelope template on plain printer paper and cut it out to use as your pattern. The template shows fold lines and the shape you’ll trace onto scrapbook paper.

Step 2: Place the template on the back of your chosen scrapbook paper, trace, and cut out the shape. The dotted lines on the template are fold lines—if you prefer, lightly mark them with a pencil.

Step 3: Print a full sheet of mini Valentine messages on white cardstock and cut each message out into small inserts that fit inside the envelopes.

Step 4: Place a message on the wrong side of the scrapbook paper envelope cutout. Note the numbered folds: fold each flap toward the center in the order shown so the message stays inside.

Step 5: Place a glue dot in the middle of the final flap on the wrong side of the envelope cutout. You can add another glue dot beneath the message to keep it from shifting. Fold flaps in numerical order and press the glued flap to seal the envelope.

Optional: Tuck a couple of small candies inside for a sweet surprise. If you add candy, consider reinforcing the back with a small piece of tape so the envelope stays secure.
