Once winter is over there is nothing better than welcoming in spring with some pretty farmhouse florals!
Winter has its perks—the cozy room, a quiet meal by the fire—but when the last frost melts away there’s nothing I love more than bringing bright, simple farmhouse florals into the home to welcome spring. Fresh air and sun make every vignette feel renewed, and even small touches of flowers and greenery can completely lift a room.
For this post I’m sharing the easy, budget-friendly ways I refreshed my farmhouse kitchen for spring last year. These ideas focus on simple florals, faux greenery, and a few small seasonal accents that create a warm, welcoming atmosphere without a lot of fuss or expense.
Because I’m terrible at keeping fresh flowers watered, I lean on faux stems and inexpensive finds. My kitchen table centerpiece is a perfect example of a low-effort, high-impact display: three clear glass jars filled with simple purple sprigs from the dollar store, tied together with a length of colored twine. The look is casual, charming, and easy to swap out or rearrange.
On one side of the centerpiece I added a small wooden birdhouse and a terrarium with faux grass and a handful of eggs—simple nods to spring and Easter. The other side features a little lamp and more natural textures to balance the arrangement. These small accents create layers of interest without overpowering the table.
Putting together a centerpiece doesn’t need to be intimidating. My best tip is to gather everything you think might work—jars, trays, small decor items, faux stems—and then start arranging. You’ll likely use only a fraction of what you pulled out, but the process is the fun part and it helps you see what combinations feel right. A wicker tray or wooden board gives a nice base and keeps the look tidy.
Open shelving is another easy spot to refresh. I swapped a few items for spring-friendly pieces: a small country pitcher filled with daffodils, stacked black-and-white plates, and a mini chalkboard with a tiny clip-on flower for a whimsical touch. Keeping the florals light and sparse prevents the shelves from feeling cluttered while still delivering seasonal charm.
The sideboard stayed functional while gaining a few spring accents: letter blocks that spell BLOOM, a bowl of faux grass with wooden eggs, and another little birdhouse. These inexpensive items add personality and can easily be packed away when the season changes.
I also rotated a few plates and added a mason jar with faux flowers to a reproduction toolbox display, introducing subtle pops of blue to complement the rest of the décor. Small color repeats—like the purple stems on the table and blue touches on the shelf—help the room feel cohesive without looking staged.
Spring decorating doesn’t have to be complicated or expensive. A few faux stems, a couple of wooden accents, and a tray to ground the display are all you need to bring farmhouse charm into your kitchen.
