The Weekly Muse: Issue 12 — Trends and Creative Ideas

Welcome to the 12th edition of the Weekly Muse. It’s surprising how quickly the weekend arrives, but I’m excited to share a fresh batch of home decor inspiration, seasonal finds, and little updates from my week. If you love interior styling, fall decorating ideas, and approachable home projects, you’ll find plenty to enjoy below.

My week at a glance

The highlight of my week was weathering Hurricane Debbie as it passed through our region on Wednesday and Thursday. If you were in the storm’s path, I hope you stayed safe and avoided damage. In some coastal counties the impact was significant, but here in Greensboro—about four hours inland—the effects were thankfully mild.

At our house the biggest task has been cleanup: branches, leaves, and a lot of yard debris. It’s one of those chores that stretches over several days, but I’m grateful we weren’t dealing with anything worse. Even small storms tend to leave a visible mark, so there’s been plenty of outdoor tidying and reorganizing to do.

On a brighter note, the dining room makeover is nearly finished. It’s been such a fun transformation—new paint, refreshed textiles, and a few carefully chosen accents that give the space a fresh personality. If everything goes as planned, I’ll share the full before-and-after reveal next week. For now, here’s a sneak peek of the new upholstery fabric on the dining chairs to give you a sense of the updated color story and texture.
