Welcome to the first edition of The Weekly Muse. Each week I’ll share small discoveries, personal musings, and a few things that have caught my eye—little sparks of inspiration I hope you’ll enjoy as much as I do.

Many of you tell me how much you enjoy the Style Showcase, our weekly roundup of decorating ideas from fellow bloggers. That gave me the idea to create a shorter, more personal companion: The Weekly Muse. Think of it as a casual collection of what’s happening around here—home decor inspiration, weekend finds, and the occasional life update.
Random happenings
• Garden dilemma: the squirrels have decided my geranium pots are a playground. After trying a few deterrents, I think I found something that keeps them away—but now the plants’ leaves are curling and turning brown. I’m working through whether it’s the treatment or something else and would welcome any tips from fellow gardeners.
• A small consignment shopping trip turned into a delightful surprise. I stumbled upon an item I never expected to find at a reasonable price and immediately ordered two complementary pieces. I love those moments when a treasure appears unexpectedly—watch for a reveal soon!
• Health update: I tried dry needling for a chronically strained Achilles tendon. It was more intense than I anticipated and not exactly pleasant, though I’m hopeful it might help with long-term recovery. If you have experience with dry needling, please share—any encouragement or practical advice would be much appreciated.
• Holiday feelings: I know it might feel early to mention the “C” word—Christmas—but I did receive some beautiful new ornaments that have me dreaming of December already. I’ll share photos and styling ideas soon on Instagram.
• Summer styling: I’m brainstorming fresh, summery touches to bring into the house. It feels like every idea has been done before, but I’m aiming for a simple, breezy look—think blue-and-white accents, natural textures, and citrus pops. If you have suggestions for easy summer decor updates, I’d love to hear them.
• I also found a few seasonal delights to share below—vignettes and pieces that made me want to pick up my camera and rearrange everything.

I get dreamy about event styling—wedding showers, backyard parties, an afternoon tea—and these wedding-shower ideas practically made me swoon. There’s something about soft hues, layered textures, and thoughtful details that instantly elevates a casual gathering.

Home Is Where The Boat Is
Window boxes are another obsession. I’m always curious about the secret to perfectly full, healthy window boxes that look effortless and lush. If you have tips for soil, planting combinations, or watering schedules that work for you, share them—I’m collecting ideas for mine.
I’d love to see more conservatory-style additions here. They’re such a charming way to bring the outdoors in and create a bright nook for plants or relaxed seating.
On the fun side, I ordered a modest bathing suit whose cheerful print instantly lifted my mood—little wardrobe updates can feel like tiny celebrations. I’m also hunting for the perfect spot to use an eye-catching peel-and-stick wallpaper I can’t stop thinking about. Wallpaper is a simple way to add personality to a small space without a major renovation.
