Favorite home decor inspiration, fashion, recipes, decor steals and other random musings from the week.
I see so many inspiring things online and out in the world that I want to share, so I’m bringing back a refreshed version of my Friday Favorites Digest. This edition mixes home decor, outfit ideas, books I’m enjoying, a recent purchase I love, and a few snapshots from a fun weekend with blogging friends.

This format is a little different than before — I’m sharing a wider variety of inspiration in hopes you’ll find something useful or fun to try this week.
STOPPED ME IN MY SCROLL
Carla Aston is one of the designers I follow most closely on Instagram. Her work consistently inspires me, and she’s always generous with advice when people ask.
I especially love her flat-lays — those carefully styled fabric and trim arrangements that show how colors, patterns, and textures play together. They’re a helpful guide when I’m planning a room or deciding on new textiles.

Her finished rooms are equally beautiful. Whether she’s working with neutrals, blues, or bolder palettes, her spaces feel layered and lived-in without feeling fussy.

OUTFIT INSPIRATION
I’ve been paying more attention to how I dress day-to-day. Since I work from home, I don’t need a full wardrobe of office clothes, but I do want outfits that feel put-together for errands, church, or a casual lunch. I was tired of living in leggings and oversized tees and wanted a fresher, more polished look.
Even a simple trip to the grocery store feels nicer when I make an effort to look presentable. I’m leaning into a classic, slightly preppy style and am thrilled that kelly green is trending again.
This is what I’m planning to wear to church this Sunday — nothing flashy, just clean lines and a pop of color. The capris are a pull-on style in kelly green, and the top and accessories add contrast and a bit of vintage charm.

The top I’m wearing is from Talbots (from last season), and the jewelry and purse are vintage pieces from my mom’s collection. I usually decide on the final accessories right before I get dressed — a little mix-and-match keeps things interesting without going overboard.
WHAT I’M WATCHING OR READING
I enjoy historical Christian fiction because it imagines the everyday lives and challenges of people in biblical times or the era surrounding Bible events. Lately, I’ve been working through all the books by Lynn Austen and just finished her “Chronicles of the Kings” series, which I found compelling and immersive.

If you like to read every book an author publishes, a useful resource I rely on is a website that lists an author’s books in order. It’s handy for tracking down sequels, standalone novels, and series order so you can read everything in the intended sequence.
RECENT PURCHASE I LOVE
I’ve been adding more blue-and-white pieces around the house for spring and summer — it’s one of my favorite combinations for a fresh, airy look. A recent favorite is the new area rug in my foyer; its blue and neutral tones bring warmth and pattern without overwhelming the space.
I considered putting the rug in my dining room, too — it’s that good. The online photos made it look darker than it is in person; in my foyer it reads softer and blends nicely with the hardwood floors.

RANDOMNESS
This past weekend was a highlight — two blogging friends visited so we could attend the High Point Furniture Market and spend time together. There’s a special energy when creative people gather to see new product launches and share ideas.
If you missed my recap of the Market, I wrote about what it’s like to attend and how inspiring it is to see so many brands and designers in one place. On the porch we snapped a quick photo together. From left to right: Rhoda from Southern Hospitality, Kate from Southern Home & Hospitality, and me. I’m grateful for friends who understand the work behind a blog and the joy of collaborating face-to-face.

Blogging can feel like a “job that doesn’t seem like a job” because the passion and creativity make the hard work enjoyable. Connecting with others who do the same reminds me why I started and keeps me motivated.
What’s inspiring you lately? I’d love to hear what decor trends, outfits, books, or small moments have caught your attention this week.
