If you arrived here from Stone Gable, welcome to Worthing Court! Yvonne’s centerpiece is gorgeous and a wonderful start to this collaborative tour.

Yvonne and I have been friends for years—her home and blog are as warm and beautiful as she is.

Over the next two days, ten bloggers will share their favorite holiday centerpieces along with clear instructions so you can recreate them at home. We discovered that centerpieces are among the most searched topics for Christmas decorating, so we focused the tour on practical, stylish table decor ideas.

I aim to keep Christmas decor cohesive from room to room, but in the dining room I tend to favor a slightly more elegant look. This year, my tree and table were inspired by a ribbon I found in my stash—light and dark sage greens paired with rich burgundy and touches of gold.

When I discovered faux sugared fruit and evergreen swags, the centerpiece idea came together quickly.

Although this centerpiece looks layered and luxurious, it’s surprisingly easy to assemble. The key steps are choosing a theme, gathering materials, and layering elements until the arrangement feels full and balanced.

Here’s exactly how I created mine.

First, I gathered everything I thought I might use: a runner, faux greenery stems and swags, ornaments, ribbons, berries, candleholders and candles, a gold eucalyptus garland, and a small vintage cherub. Laying out options makes it easier to visualize the final arrangement and choose the best accents.

Step 1: Place a long burgundy runner down the table center. It protects the surface and anchors the centerpiece visually.

Step 2: Build a base with long-needled faux evergreen stems, arranging their ends toward the center to create a central focal line. The swags I used were narrow, so I layered them on top of this bed to achieve a fuller look.

Next, I added two sugared fruit swags, placing their ends close together so they read as a continuous garland.

TIP: Fluff and bend faux stems for a more natural, full appearance.

Step 3: Position candleholders among the greenery. I used four tall candlesticks staggered through the length of the arrangement and a pair of small gold quail candleholders at the ends to create visual “bookends.”

Step 4: Add ribbon to introduce color and movement. I layered green and burgundy plaid ribbon with a shimmering gold ribbon, creating single loops with long tails and tucking them into the greenery gaps for a natural effect.

Step 5: Tuck in eucalyptus leaves and other foliage cuttings to add texture and depth. Finally, sprinkle in small burgundy berries for subtle pops of color that echo the ribbon and tree palette.

After adding the candles and making small adjustments, the centerpiece came together in about 20 minutes. The final result is lush, balanced, and elegant—perfect for a holiday dinner or a festive gathering.

Creating a centerpiece like this is mostly about layering: a foundational runner, a bed of greenery, decorative swags, candles, ribbons, and finishing touches like leaves and berries. Mix and match colors and textures that complement your decor for a cohesive, pulled-together look.
