Welcome to the Holiday Progressive Tablescape, Dinner, and Entertaining Tips blog tour. If you’ve arrived here from Maui In My Heart, thank you for stopping by Worthing Court. Debbie’s table was stunning—now let me share how I decorated this year’s dining room.
I’ve treated the dining room as an elegant, intimate space for the holidays. While the rest of the house celebrates a classic red, white, and green palette, the dining room at Worthing Court is my personal canvas. I wanted a room that feels refined and serene, and this year’s decor embraces that mood with a snowy, teal-accented theme.
The centerpiece of the room is a new flocked tree whose snowy branches inspired the entire design. As soon as I unpacked that white, frosted beauty, teal became the natural accent color. The tree’s soft, wintry look called for cool tones and subtle sparkle rather than traditional bright reds.

The dining table is the showpiece. I designed a tablescape as lush and layered as the tree, evoking a stroll through a snowy woodland filled with cedar and pine. A thick garland runs the length of the table, layered with varied greenery to create depth and texture.

The garland is a mix of artificial greenery chosen for a realistic, woodland feel. I removed the original red berries and replaced them with juniper-look sprigs for a cooler, more cohesive color story that complements the teal décor.

To add warm ambient glow and a touch of vintage glamour, mercury glass votives are scattered along the garland. Their soft reflective finish catches candlelight beautifully and brings a bit of sparkle without overpowering the serene palette.

For a snowy, tactile base I cut placemats from faux fur yardage. Sized at 21″ x 18″ and turned sideways, these placemats drape slightly over the table edge for a cozy, layered look that softens the entire setting.

Each place setting layers gray dinner plates with detailed edging, everyday salad plates, and teal dessert bowls that hold a tiny faux juniper tree. Silverware is bundled and tied with teal-and-gray striped ribbon to unify the color story, while teal napkins are finished with vintage silver napkin rings—small details that bring the whole look together.

Because the table is ornate, the sideboard styling is intentionally restrained. A vintage shelf holds candlesticks and gray candles framing a eucalyptus wreath displayed inside a tobacco basket. I added a few shimmery leaves to the wreath for a festive touch, and mini flocked trees anchor the snowy pine garland across the top of the sideboard.

Instead of the usual large candles in the lanterns, this year I placed teal vases with eucalyptus inside each lantern and hung frosted candle rings on the baskets beneath. The result is a calm, coordinated vignette that echoes the room’s teal and snowy accents.
