My goal was to create an elegant, restful retreat for the season using soft blues, slate grays and warm beige neutrals.

The first focal point I created was the Christmas tree—a prelit 7′ flocked Fraser fir with a slim profile that fits nicely in a bedroom. Choosing a tree with a softer, frosted look keeps the mood tranquil and lends itself well to light blue and champagne gold ornaments.
On the tree I mixed light and dark blue ornaments with champagne gold pieces, then tucked in berry picks and a chambray blue ribbon. A textured tree skirt in plush quilted velveteen finished the base and added a layer of luxury without overwhelming the room.
To anchor the tree visually, I added coordinating decorative pieces next to it: a classic Santa figurine that complements the palette, a blue crockery urn filled with faux packages, and two champagne gold metal urns for balance and height variation.
Across the room, my dresser became a secondary holiday vignette. I hung fur stockings from the drawer knobs, arranged a trio of modern white ceramic trees, and tucked in frosted greenery and pinecone picks to echo the tree’s texture.
Above the bed, the large round basket that usually hangs on the wall became a perfect base for a soft, seasonal wreath. I draped a champagne gold eucalyptus garland across the headboard to pick up the subtle metallic accents from the tree and accessories.
On the bench at the foot of the bed I styled a small vignette with a whitewashed wooden tray, a couple of wrapped packages tied in chambray ribbon, two ornaments that echo the tree, and a cozy fur throw. This little scene brings seasonal charm right into the sleeping area without feeling cluttered.
Decorating a master bedroom for the holidays is all about scale, texture and restraint. Choose a limited color palette that complements your everyday decor, mix textures such as velvet, fur and metallics, and keep personal spaces functional by concentrating larger displays in one corner of the room.
