Join Me for an Urban Farmhouse Holiday Home Tour at Worthing Court

I’ve been eagerly anticipating sharing my home for the holidays, and today Worthing Court is fully dressed for Christmas. I’m delighted to be part of the 2016 Holiday Home Tour hosted by Chloe from Celebrate & Decorate. All week we’re featuring beautiful seasonal homes, and below you’ll find the schedule for other blogger tours. For now, come along as I walk you through the festive corners of my urban farmhouse.
Christmas Home Tour
We’ll begin at the front porch. Our wide southern porch is a blessing, but it can be a challenge to decorate effectively because of its size. This is the first year since renovating our twenty-year-old house that I’ve gone all out here, and seeing guests’ reactions as they arrive has been so rewarding. The porch features a small Christmas tree, a white rocking chair with buffalo-check accents, a wooden sled, and a larger tree near the house trimmed with a red star—classic farmhouse touches that welcome visitors with warm holiday charm. For a detailed look at the porch décor, see the Worthing Court porch tour on my blog.

Step inside through the front door and you’ll find the foyer. I’m offering a sneak peek here today and will share a full Christmas foyer reveal soon. The small tree and carefully placed gifts create a welcoming entry without overwhelming the space—perfect for greeting family and friends during the holidays.

From the foyer, the tour moves into the family room where most of our holiday gatherings take place. I used tartan plaid ribbon across the tree and mantel, and a lively red-and-white checked ribbon really enlivens the tree. The overall palette of red, green, and white brings a traditional farmhouse feel while keeping things bright and festive. The mantel is layered with greenery, classic ornaments, and cozy accents to create a focal point for family photos and seasonal traditions.

One of my favorite holiday moments is watching children open their gifts. This year’s packages are wrapped in coordinated red, white, and green papers and ribbons to create a festive display beneath the tree. Grouping wrapped presents together not only builds excitement but also enhances the overall seasonal styling of the room.

I assembled a quick holiday vignette on the coffee table in minutes; a small tray with candles and seasonal accents proves that simple arrangements can be impactful. My DIY rustic ladder is dressed for the season with throws and blankets, adding texture and a practical, decorative element near the seating area.

The breakfast nook is where the Christmas decorating truly began this year. Open farmhouse shelves above the sideboard display plaid plates that inspired the rest of my décor palette. The plaid pattern, found on clearance earlier in the year, became a central motif—informing ribbon choices, tabletop styling, and layered greenery for a cohesive farmhouse-chic look.

The kitchen stretches the length of the space, with the breakfast nook at one end and the cooking area at the other. I’ll share a full kitchen tour later, but here are a few sneak peeks: a gingerbread house displayed in a glass canister on the island, a cozy hot cocoa vignette to serve guests, and a wooden breadboard with fresh homemade bread—small touches that make the kitchen feel festive and inviting.

Finally, the dining room offers a contrast to the more casual family areas. I like to dress this room a bit more formally for holiday meals, so it embraces a rustic-glam style—wood tones paired with metallic accents, a beaded light fixture above the table, and curated vintage shelving filled with Christmas decor. The dining room becomes the backdrop for our formal holiday gatherings and adds a special touch to celebratory meals.
